The Central Ohio Startup Blog is part of the Startup Blog Network. Alexander Muse started the network in 2005 when he published his first post on the Texas Startup Blog. Today his blog has more than 1,500 articles on entrepreneurship and venture capital and has garnered international attention with more than 50,000 regular readers. In 2008, Alexander and his team expanded the network to all fifty states, and expansion outside of the United States is also underway. The Central Ohio Startup Blog is authored by Rick Coplin, and covers a 15 county area around Columbus, Ohio.

I have a wide ranging background in consulting for manufacturing, distribution and finance industry clients, technology development and implementation, banking, startup formation and most recently early stage company mentoring.
I’ve enjoyed working with KPMG, Ernst & Young Consulting, Bank One, and a startup company, Armada Group, which sold in 2007.
I am currently leveraging my background to assist entrepreneurial companies in cultivating strategies for success, developing a superior business foundation, preparing for financing rounds, and engaging appropriate mentors and capable leadership resources to achieve rapid growth and sustainable competitive market positions.
In addition, I partner with the Dublin, Ohio Economic Development Department focusing on the success of Dublin based companies from startups to well established, entrepreneurial and innovative companies. I am also involved in developing the Dublin Entrepreneurial Center (The DEC) as a regional resource for entrepreneurs and innovative companies. The DEC is an integral part of TechColumbus’ TechStart regional strategy, and is complimentary to the TechColumbus incubator, which also serves as a regional resource, focused on Advanced Materials, Bioscience, and Information Technology.
